George is constantly saying how broke we are. Of course I manage our finances and he doesn’t really have a clue as to how our finances are. Since he left his secure job last spring our finances have been tighter than they used to be. At one time when we were both working we used to spend money on pretty much whatever we wanted. Then when I became a stay-at-home mom we had to adjust our spending to live off of one income.

And now? We’re living off of George’s income which has been greatly reduced. I have also been fortunate enough to find some work at home jobs I can do. So while we are doing okay getting all our bills paid, it is going to be tight with this new support bill we have. Plus with Christmas right around the corner we have to be extra careful with our spending.

You know what really scares me? George and I do not have any health insurance. When George left his job back in March to start his own business he left behind our health insurance.

Fortunately the state we live in will provide health insurance for all children, regardless of income. If you only make a little bit of money it can range from being free to paying the full premium if you have a higher income. And the full premium is still affordable. So we are very thankful for that- Peanut is covered.

The problem for George and I is that we make too much money to qualify for any of the state health plans for ourselves. And we don’t make enough money to be able to afford to pay a full premium for ourselves because it is very expensive.

I have looked into several different insurance companies, but haven’t found any well priced. I am going to look into it though as it would save me a lot of worrying if I knew that George and I would be protected if one of gets sick.

There are so many things in life to worry about. And if it can be worried about, I worry about it. I envy people who just kind of go with things and never worry. I wish I could be like that. But most of the time my stomach is in knot and I am feeling worried or anxious about something. And if there isn’t anything real to worry about I will make something up to worry about.

Anyhoo- one thing that can put your mind at ease when it comes to some of the worrying is a company like Cryo-Cell. You can bank your baby’s cord blood with them and it can be used to treat many diseases. There are 75 diseases that can be treated my the stem cells from a baby’s cord blood. And scientists are working hard to find more diseases that can be helped with the stem cells.

Now if you want to keep up with Cryo-Cell and have all of the latest information you can check them out on Cryo-Cell on Facebook and Cryo-Cell on Twitter. Be sure to check out their site and their Facebook and Twitter pages. There is a vast amount of information!

And I’m also busy being obsessively worried about the swine flu. And since worrying tends to help matters I’ll just keep worrying some more. If we weren’t so close to some of the suspected cases I wouldn’t be too worried. But we are close. Very, very close. And if I weren’t a mommy I probably wouldn’t be worried at all.

What have you been up to?

I very rarely stress over money. I think there are so many other things in life that are so much more important than money. If everyone in my family is healthy- then I am happy. When something terrible happens it just shows how unimportant money really is.

But lately I find myself getting a little worried over money. We are in the midst of trying to buy a house. Everything seems to be incredibly over-priced. I thought this was buyers market but the choices are slim and what is available is terrible. It’s frustrating. In order to get the house we want I’m afraid we’re going to have stretch our already tight budget. We’ll probably get enough from the sale of our house to live off of for a year. So, I know we have a year to get ourselves situated and get our business running better. But I am just stressing over it.

Also, I’m stressing over our taxes. This is the first year we have had our business and I used a tax program but I am so worried about our taxes.

I know there are things in life that are much, much worse. I am thankful to have a healthy family and know that is the only thing that matters.

Our economy is in rough shape right now. I’m sure you have noticed. I mean, how can you not notice? With the economy the way that it is, I am sure that most of you have been affected in some way. I know we have definitely felt the impact. In the past we used to put quite a bit of money away into our savings account. Not anymore. We are barely getting all of our bills paid. So, what do you do when you are in that situation and you need some money right away? You can’t wait until the next payday. Well- you could look into payday loans. This is something to only use in an emergency- certainly not something you should use all of the time. But if you are in a rough situation you may want to consider it.

The other day I got a phone call from the insurance company who insures our cars and our home. They wanted to talk to me about life insurance. I was busy at the time and told them no. But since then I have been thinking about how we don’t have any life insurance. If something happened to one of us I don’t know what the other one would do.

We are young but talking about term life insurance is something George and I need to do. So I was looking today at Financial One and checking out the life insurance rates to see how much it would cost for us to get some life insurance. The rates really vary quite a bit- I found from $17 to $45 per month for me. So, obviously when it comes to term insurance you need to shop around and find the best rates.

It’s not something anyone likes to think about or talk about, but it is very necessary to do.

I try to take a lot of precautions to keep the identities of myself and my family safe. It is a scary world where someone will try to take your identity and use it for themselves and ruin your name and your credit. What are some of the things you can do to keep your identity safe?

You can be very careful about shopping online. Make sure you are using sites that are secure. You can shred documents that have your social security number or credit card numbers on them. You can take all sorts of extra steps to try to prevent someone from stealing your information. But what about the mail in your mailbox? While you are at work the mail sits in your mailbox available for anyone to take. Someone could easily watch your house and figure out your schedule and steal your mail. That is why a locking mailbox is such a great idea.

Check out this video of how secure a locking mailbox from Mail Boss is:

With one of those in front of your house you can be sure that no one will be stealing your mail and your personal information. Although the price might seem a little high at first think about how much more it would cost you if your private information was stolen.

It’s been an entire week since I’ve had Peanut at the doctor. Which, as of lately is pretty good. Ever since she was soooo sick at the beginning of the year I freak out about everything and rush her to the doctor. One day last week I even took her because of a little bruise I found that I didn’t know where it came from. Sometimes I feel like I need to take her there to have the doctors tell me that she is okay and completely healthy. Then I am fine for a few days before I find something new that I worry about until I am sick to my stomach and have to take her in for more reassurance. Is this some kind of illness? Can I just take a pill to stop all of the worrying and anxiety?

Are you stressed out? I have felt stressed to the max before- mostly over worries about Peanut. Who knew one little person could cause me so much worry? I try not to let myself get stressed out over other things because they just don’t matter.

But lately I’m starting to feel some other concerns. I work from home as does George. And lately our income has dropped significantly. I know it’s because of the economy and a lot of what we do isn’t really a necessity. So people need food and shelter before they need what we are selling. And that hurts us financially. We have been doing this for the last year and have not had to dip into our savings account yet. But in the next couple of months I’m afraid we’re going to have to.

On top of that, the regular every day stresses are getting to me. Just trying to rush here and there and get everything done I need to do can cause me much anxiety. I was looking into The Mindful Living Network and how you can transform your life and really live your life- not just watching it all zoom by. Stop feeling so overwhelmed and look into these ideas to transform your life.
