Crazy called and asked if instead of bringing her home if George could just bring her to school.  Not a problem.

So, George told Miss B and it was fine with her.  BUT, she wanted him to take her to her uncle’s house to get some clothes for school.  George told her she could just wear something she had with us.  But, then George started to wonder- why does she need to go to her uncle’s house to pick up her clothes.  And then the story came out.  Apparently her clothes are at her uncle’s house because that’s where she lives.

Nothing like having NO idea that your daughter has been living somewhere else for several weeks to make you just a little bit mad.

So, Miss B said the reason is that she can not get along with her mother anymore.  Totally understandable.  Miss B also has a younger step sister who has also moved out to go live with another family member because she can’t get along either.  And I don’t really know Crazy all that well, but I can tell that she can be pretty evil.

Of course, Crazy’s story was pretty different.  And I’m sure there is truth being told by both Miss B and Crazy.

We don’t see Miss B as often as we used to, and if you read my blog then you know things have not been very great lately with her.  But, I do not believe in giving Christmas presents based on behavior, so I am still planning to spoil Miss B just like I always do.

Of course, we want to see Miss B, it’s just surprising that she wants to suddenly see us.  I do wonder what is going on.  Crazy keeps calling and asking what time Miss B is going to get picked up which is very unusual.  It seems like she doesn’t want Miss B alone in the house and I’m wondering what is going on.

Maybe by the time Peanut is old enough to play with that kind of doll house it will be done.  I think I’m going to start stocking up on Miniature Accessories to go with the house.  I love the choices available at Zoolabees- they have the cutest bedroom and kitchen sets.  Actually of their stuff is really cute and reasonably priced too.

Maybe if I bug George to work on it he’ll have it done in the next 10 years or so ;)

]]> http://akreonline.net/2009/01/the-dollhouse/feed/ 0 Real Eye Opener http://akreonline.net/2009/01/real-eye-opener/ http://akreonline.net/2009/01/real-eye-opener/#comments Mon, 12 Jan 2009 21:04:37 +0000 Thoughts http://akreonline.net/?p=317 The day I had a real eye opener about Miss B was at her 16th birthday party.  Now I knew what she had become and I had my suspicions about how she was acting.  But, to really see it was an eye opener.  I don’t know why it was a surprise- I knew it in my head.  I guess seeing it was what broke my heart a little bit.  The way she acted, the way she was all over her boyfriend.  I knew if she could act like that in front of everyone- us, my parents- that I could only imagine what went on when no one was around.  Now Crazy is either in complete denial or thinks we are completely stupid.  But Miss B is either on a path to really messing up her life… or learning some hard lessons early that will hopefully turn her around.

Of course Crazy has a different story than Miss B does.  According to Crazy, Miss B is still living with her but is spending several nights each week at her Uncle’s house.  There are all sorts of problems with Miss B.  She is failing at school.  She is sneaking out at night.  Crazy doesn’t have any control over her and doesn’t know what to do with her.  Miss B is smoking now too.  Part of the reason Miss B is spending so much time at her uncle’s house is because Crazy wants her away from a bad news boyfriend too.

I am sure there are true aspects coming from both Miss B and from Crazy.  Whatever the entire truth is, Miss B needs to be living with us.  We need to move back to our home town so she can come live with us without completely uprooting her life.  Or maybe uprooting her life would be a good thing.  Something needs to change.

Funny thing happened- we had an awesome weekend together.  No attitude.  No staying in her room with the door closed.  She actually spent time with us.  We talked and laughed.  It was like we had the old Miss B back.

Remember how I was suspicious though because Crazy kept calling and asking when we were picking Miss B up.  Crazy never does that, so it made me wonder.  With good reason- but I’ll get into that later.

]]> http://akreonline.net/2008/11/fun-with-miss-b/feed/ 0 How It Is Now http://akreonline.net/2008/06/how-it-is-now/ http://akreonline.net/2008/06/how-it-is-now/#comments Tue, 01 Jul 2008 03:30:04 +0000 Thoughts http://akreonline.net/?p=21 So things with Miss B gradually got worse.  The year of 2006 was pretty bad.  She did come to see us some, usually with a friend.  Which was okay with me, I just wanted to get to see her.  Most of the time when she had a friend with her she didn’t do a whole lot with us, but just having her here made me happy.  After our daughter Peanut was born, it took Miss B several weeks to be able to make the time to come see her.  She did spend some time with us in the months after Peanut was born.

The year of 2007 was even worse than 2006.  I don’t think we saw her 10 times the entire year.  Then at Christmas time in 2007 I noticed that she had posted on MySpace (the way that her and I communicated) that she was now an Atheist.  So, I told George about it.  We were pretty upset because as Christians, this was a huge deal to us.  Looking back, I know that George should have cooled down before he called her, but he didn’t.  They ended up arguing.  In the end Miss B felt unloved and unaccepted, which is a terrible way for a teenager to feel.  It isn’t at all how we feel about her- we love her and accept her no matter what.  We just don’t agree with the choices she is making.

So, Miss B refused to see us at all.  And since Crazy (Miss B’s mom) lets Miss B make all of her own choices, she didn’t have to see us if she didn’t want to.  It was a quiet and sad Christmas without her.  We didn’t see her again until February when she spent a weekend with us.  Since then she has been to our house only a couple of times.  Maybe 3 or 4 this entire year.  We do drive to see her.  Miss B lives in the same town as our parents live in, so whenever we visit them we try to see Miss B.  She is usually too busy to make time of us though. 

And it makes me sad, the way she is turning out.
