We’re Moving

Unless you’re new around here you know we are moving.  We sold our house, we found a new house, we’ve packed up all of our stuff and now we’re moving.

When we get to our new house- first up- fix a few safety type issues.  Then get rid of the hideous wallpaper.  It’s actually not that bad, but it’s still bad.  Then we will be doing some work on the deck and tearing out ugly carpet in the master bedroom and the dining room.  There is beautiful hardwood floors underneath and we are hoping it is in good condition.

We may want to hire some College Pro Painters too because I’ve done the painting thing and I don’t like it!  Then we’ll settle in and enjoy our new home.

Where Oh Where…

…has the time gone?  Oh where oh where could it be?

I can’t believe I haven’t posted in a couple of weeks.  I’ve been so busy preparing for our move.  And now I’m still busy preparing for our move.  Plus I’m busy being obsessed with Facebook.

And I’m also busy being obsessively worried about the swine flu.  And since worrying tends to help matters I’ll just keep worrying some more.  If we weren’t so close to some of the suspected cases I wouldn’t be too worried.  But we are close.  Very, very close.  And if I weren’t a mommy I probably wouldn’t be worried at all.

What have you been up to?

Once Upon a Time…

… I woke up in the morning just like everyday.  I turned my laptop on and started breakfast for Peanut.  Once I had her sitting down to eat her breakfast I checked my email.  Odd, there weren’t any new comments for any of my blogs.  That does not ever happen.

So, I checked my sites.  None of them were loading.  I knew they had been out for a while because I didn’t get any comments during the night.  Then I got an email on my personal account from my mother-in-law wanting to know why I had blocked her from my blogs.  (Not this blog, she doesn’t know about this one!)

George tried to contact our hosting company with no response.  Know how long this went on?  DAYS!  I couldn’t stand it.  Not only do I need my blogs for fun, but we have other sites we run to make our living.  No one would respond.  Fortunately George had backed up all of our sites.  And after looking into reviews on various website hosting companies George was able to get us all set up.

It was a HUGE headache!  Make sure you use a company like Web Hosting Geeks to get information about the various choices you have before making a decision.  The time you spend researching is well worth it.

The End.

Will We Ever Find the One??

So what’s been happening?  I haven’t been blogging much lately.  I have been sooooo busy with this whole moving process.

We spent all of last Saturday and Sunday looking at houses.  On Saturday we saw three houses we liked.  On Sunday we didn’t see any so we went back to two from Saturday we liked.  Then later we took my parents and showed them our top two choices.  Everyone agreed on one house so we called our agent and said we wanted to make an offer.  We went in first thing Monday morning to make an offer on our favorite house.  While we were making the offer the other agent called and said they were getting another offer too.  The other offer was better, so we lost out on that house.

Our second choice had some bad things about it that I didn’t notice because I loved the neighborhood and the house so much.  But it had some major things that would need to be fixed.  Plus it was next to an elementary school and my mom pointed out how loud that would be with the kids outside.  Our third choice had very high taxes.

So we looked a little more.  On Wednesday night this log home that we have been dreaming about that was out of our price range came way down in price.  So we went to look at it, sure that this was the one.  It wasn’t.  There were major issues.

We’ve decided to go back and make another offer on the very first house we tried to get a month ago, it’s still available.  Maybe if we raise our offer a little the sellers will come down a little.  If not we’ll be looking again.  Eventually we will find the right house, I know that.  But right now I am soooo frustrated.

Once we find the perfect house I am going to take pictures of it and create a postcard to send out to all of our family and friends.  They’ll be able to see our new house and get our new address.  You can do just that at VistaPrint- customize your own postcards.  I think it’ll be a fun way to let everyone know where we are and what our new home looks like.
