Since Peanut was 2 years old this year at Christmas time I had a lot of fun buying her Christmas presents this year.  It was really exciting to pick out dolls and a doll house and cars, a fun little amusement park and all sorts of other fun two year old toys. 

As I bought toys for her I remembered some of my favorite things from when I was a kid.  One of the things that came to mind was my doll house- I remember hours and hours of fun playing with it.  And when Peanut opened her doll house this year I had a lot of fun helping her set it up and playing with it with her.  The doll house that I had when I was little is pretty different than the one we bought for Peanut.  Times have certainly changed. 

In some ways I think toys used to be better- it seems like they used to be better built when I was younger.  But in other ways I think the toys today are better- they do really neat things and have all sorts of options that we never had when we were little.

Today I was looking at some of the really neat toys at the MEGA Brands website- they have some super fun toys like the Struxx Building toys for older kids and the Mickey Mouse Clubhouse toy that Peanut would love.  They also have these really neat toys called MagNext- and they are like nothing I have ever seen before.  These are definitely an example of how toys have improved.  Guess it’s time to start making my shopping list for next Christmas already!
