Still Alive

The last time I posted was a while ago when I was complaining about being soooo sick.  It continued to get worse- my temp getting a little higher each day- up over 102.  On the day before Christmas Eve (Tuesday) I called to see if I could get into the doctor- but they couldn’t see me until Friday.  So on Christmas Eve I went to the walk in clinic.  I was having a hard time breathing and not getting enough oxygen in my blood- so I guess it was more serious than I realized.  My diagnosis was bronchitis and I left with a prescription for an antibiotic and an inhaler.

Since I don’t have any insurance the doctors appointment cost me $90.  I was actually much more worried about how much the medication was going to cost than the doctors appointment.  I called around and got the best prices.  The place where I got my antibiotic gave me $5 off my medication.  Then when I went to Target to get my inhaler the pharmacist had a coupon to get me the inhaler for free.  I almost cried.  I was so thankful that people were so willing to help me out.  I never thought I would find myself without insurance and it’s a scary place to be.

I’m finally starting to feel a little better.  I still have a terrible cough.  But the chills and fever are gone and I can breath.  My chest still feels like it’s burning when I try to take a deep breath but hopefully that will be over soon.

Anyhoo- hopefully I’ll be all better in time to celebrate the New Year!

Out of Control?

Has your spending this Christmas season gotten out of control?  With the mess that our economy is in it is probably necessary to cut back on your spending.  But, it is hard to cut back on your Christmas spending.  We didn’t want Peanut to get less this year so we decided to just buy less for each other.

But if you find you have spent too much money and you can’t afford to pay off your credit cards then it might be time to think about debt consolidation.  You’ll still be paying off your bills but you will save on the amount of interest you have to pay.

Soooooo Sick!

Wow.  I am sooooo sick.  I can not remember the last time I felt this sick.  It all started last Wednesday with a little cough and feeling a little bit achy.  By Wednesday night I had a slight fever.  I felt the same way Thursday but I had shopping to get done, so I pressed on.  Friday I felt worse and we had a big snow storm, so I stayed home all day.  Saturday I had stuff to get done so I pressed on again even though I still felt terrible.  By Sunday my fever was up pretty high even though I had taken lots of Motrin.  I was shivering and had goose bumps.  I have been coughing like crazy and it’s hard to even catch my breath.  Every time I try to talk or take a deep breath the coughing starts up again.  I went to bed early last night- around 10pm.  I’m usually up until well after midnight.  This morning George got up with Peanut and I stayed in bed until 11am when Peanut was begging me to get up.  I still feel terrible today but I do feel a little better and my temperture is back down to 100.5.  I haven’t even started wrapping presents or baking so I need to get better so I can get to work!

Visiting Orlando

We have been talking about taking a family vacation to Orlando.  Since our favorite place to vacation is Orlando- it only makes sense to go there!  And after getting a foot of snow yesterday, with another foot coming tomorrow- what better time to go than now?

When we get to Orlando there is so much that I want to be able to do.  Of course we’ll go to Disney World- what is a trip to Orlando without taking some time to go to Disney World?  Of course we’ll have to visit Universal Studios too- we love it there!!  And one of our favorite things to do is to go to Sea World.  We love the shows there- they are so amazing!  Not only do they have amazing shows but the rides are fabulous too.  And with a family that has a 16 year old and a 2 year old this park is perfect for both ages.

Since George and I like to do things for as little money as possible we will be checking out some discount sea world tickets.  Plus right now you can get a second day for free at Sea World- and it is definitely worth spending 2 days there.  Not only will we save money- but we will have a fun and educational day for the whole family.  And that?  Makes this mommy happy!
